How to Download and install the SafeNet eToken Authentication Client (Windows)

The SafeNet Authentication Client must be installed on any Windows system where you plan to insert the USB token to sign code. This software enables Windows to recognize the token and access the certificate stored inside it.

Step 1: Download the SafeNet Client for Windows

Select the appropriate installer for your system architecture:

• 👉 Download 64-bit (.msi) — Most modern Windows systems
• 👉 Download 32-bit (.msi) — For older or 32-bit systems

The installer file will download to your Downloads folder.

Step 2: Run the Installer

1. Open your Downloads folder in File Explorer.
2. Double-click the .msi file you downloaded.
3. If prompted by Windows, click Yes to allow the installer to make changes to your device.
4. Follow the steps in the installation wizard to complete the setup.

Step 3: Confirm Installation

After installation, you can find the SafeNet Authentication Client in your Start Menu under:

Start > All Programs > SafeNet > SafeNet Authentication Client

You can also check your system tray (bottom-right corner of your screen) for the SafeNet icon. Right-click it to manage your token or view certificate details.
