Install SSL Certificate: Plesk 7
Follow these instructions to install your GeoTrust SSL certificate for your Web site.
Your SSL server certificate will be sent to you by email. The email message includes the web server certificate that you purchased in the body of the email message. Copy the certificate from the body of the email and paste it into a simple text editor, such as Notepad.
Save the certificate file as
yourdomain.txton your local machine or network.- Logon to Plesk. To access the Control Panel certificates repository,
click the Certificates icon
at
the Server administration page. The certificates repository page
will open displaying the list of available certificates.
- In the Certificates section of the certificates repository click the Certificate Name for which you have have a pending certificate request.
- Use the Browse button to locate the
yourdomain.txtcertificate you saved in Step 1. Click Send File. The existing certificate with appropriate private key will be found and the certificate part will be added to the repository. - You've installed the cert, now you need to ASSIGN the cert. Under General, click Clients and select the appropriate client.
- In the Tools box, click IP Pool, then click the IP for the domain.
- In the IP Address Form next to SSL Certificate change it from the 'default' to the name you gave the certificate when you created the CSR.
- Click OK.
- Stop and then Start the Apache Web Server (this must be a stop then start, a restart will not work).

Test your SSL certificate by using a browser to connect to your server.
Use the https protocol directive. For example, if your
SSL was issued to secure.mysite.com, enter https://secure.mysite.com into
your browser.
The gold padlock icon
on
your browser will be displayed in the locked position if your certificate
is installed correctly and the server
is properly
configured for SSL.
