Install SSL Certificate: Oracle Wallet Manager

Follow these instructions to install your GeoTrust SSL certificate for your Web site. You will be importing two SSL certificates: the GeoTrust trusted root and the server certificate sent to you in the fulfillment email.

Importing the GeoTrust trusted root certificate

  1. First, you will need to download the appropriate GeoTrust root certificate and save it as a text file. You will need the Base-64 (text) version of the trusted root.
  2. Open Oracle Wallet Manager and from the Operations menu, select the Import Trusted Certificate option.
  3. The Import Trusted Certificate dialog box is displayed. Select either the Paste the certificate or the Select a file that contains the certificate option. We'll assume you have chosen the paste the certificate option.
  4. In the next dialog box, paste the GeoTrust trusted root certificate that you downloaded in Step 1. Be sure to include the lines: ----- BEGIN CERTIFICATE ----- and ----- END CERTIFCATE -----. Click OK.
  5. Now under the Trusted Certificates node in the navigation pane, you see that the GeoTrust (Equifax) root is added.

Importing the SSL server certificate

  1. You will now install the SSL server certificate. This is the certificate that was emailed to you in the fulfillment email.
  2. Open Oracle Wallet Manager and from the Operations menu, select the Import User Certificate option.
  3. The Import User Certificate dialog box is displayed. Select either the Paste the certificate or the Select a file that contains the certificate option. We'll assume you have chosen the paste the certificate option.
  4. In the next dialog box, paste the server certificate that was sent to you. Be sure to include the lines: ----- BEGIN CERTIFICATE ----- and ----- END CERTIFCATE -----. Click OK.
  5. You will find that the certificate node in the navigation pane changes from Certificate:[Requested] to Certificate:[Ready]. Now the wallet with a certificate is ready to use for SSL.
  6. Save the wallet.
